Occipital Lobe
The top most part of human brain is called cerebrum which is further divided into 4 sections, called LOBES (by bones of the head bone i.e. skull that overlie these lobes) and the occipital lobe is one of these four lobes of the forebrain (cerebrum).
The part of cerebral cortex that lies underneath the occipital bone is called the occipital lobe. The occipital lobe is approximately 12% of the total surface area of human brain. It is the small area located behind the parieto-occipital sulcus and is located at the back of the skull behind the temporal and parietal lobes.
