Anterior Nucleus
Hypothalamus is a portion of brain containing a number of small nuclei having different functions. One of the most important functions of Hypothalamus is to form a link between Nervous System and Endocrine System by means of Pituitary Gland. Hypothalamus has three regions i.e. Anterior, Tuberal and Posterior. Each of these regions has their own respective nuclei. One of the nuclei of the anterior region is Anterior Hypothalamic Nucleus.

Anterior Nucleus
ANTERIOR HYPOTHALAMIC NUCLEUS
It is a nucleus of the anterior region of Hypothalamus. The capillaries of this nucleus are very vascular and exchanges of stimuli occur there.
FUNCTION
Anterior Hypothalamic Nucleus has a key role in Thermoregulation (maintenance of body temperature) of the body. One of its functions is to regulate sleep.
ASSOCIATION WITH DISEASE
The damage or destruction to this Anterior Hypothalamic Nucleus causes Hypothermia as the body is unable to regulate body temperature.
AFFILIATION WITH OTHER REGION
Anterior Hypothalamic Area is often affiliated with the Preoptic Area.
