ATTACHMENTS
- Origin is from Lateral Epicondyle of Humerus (lateral side of elbow).
- Extensor Digiti Minimi runs on posterior aspect of forearm and hand till first bone of pinky finger (proximal phalanx of 5th finger).
- Insertion is at Extensor Expansion of fifth finger (pinky finger).
BLOOD SUPPLY
Extensor Digiti Minimi receives its blood supply from Ulnar Artery via its branches. Branches supplying it from proximal to distal side are:
- Posterior Interosseous Artery
- Anterior Interosseous Artery via perforating branch
- Dorsal Carpal Arch
- Dorsal Metacarpal Arteries
- Dorsal Digital Arteries
NERVE SUPPLY
Extensor Digiti Minimi gets innervated by Radial Nerve (C7, C8).
ACTION
Extensor Digiti Minimi extends both Wrist Joint and Little Finger of hand.
