• Height is 2.2 cm

• Breadth is 2 cm

• Depth is  2.2 cm

The sinuses are very small at birth. They increase in size after puberty.

NERVE SUPPLY

They receive their nerve supply from posterior ethmoidal nerves and some fibers of the facial nerve which control mucous secretion.

CLINICAL IMPORTANCE

Cavernous sinus thrombosis is a serious complication of inflammation of sphenoidal sinuses.
