Vas Deferens
Vas Deferens is supplied by Inferior Hypogastric Plexus. Its nerve supply is autonomic in nature.
Lymph from Ductus Deferens drains into External Iliac lymph nodes. While some of it drains into nodes along aorta and inferior vena cava.
It stores sperms for ejaculation and helps them move towards ejaculatory duct. As Ejaculation occurs it contracts and sends sperms towards ejaculatory duct in form of rhythmic contractions away from testis (peristalsis).
1. It is easily palpable because of its thick cord like structure and easy access via scrotum. 2. As it is superficial to testis and easily approachable. It is often cut in a surgical procedure (Vasectomy) to induce male contraception. It is mostly reversible as cut ends can be joined together.
