Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus Muscle
Musculus extensor carpi radialis longus is the Latin pronunciation for Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus Muscle. It is one of the five main muscles controlling the movement of Wrist. The muscle is quite long starting from the lateral side of Humerus and attaching to base of Second Metacarpal bone (Metacarpal of Index finger).

Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus Muscle
ANATOMY
The muscle originates from lateral ridge of Humerus, from lateral Intermuscular Septum (Lower part of the crest of great tubercle of Humerus) and few fibers originate from the Lateral Epicondyle of Humerus. These fibers end in a flat tendon of the forearm running along lateral border of Radius. It then passes down the Dorsal Carpal Ligament (Thick part holding tendons of Extensor muscle in place) where it lies on back of Radius and Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis (Muscle in forearm to extend the wrist) behind the Styloid process (Bone projection on the lateral surface of distal Radius bone).
Being the muscle of Radial Forearm Group it starts along with Brachioradialis (Forearm muscle to flex forearm at elbow). Passing between Brachioradialis and Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis the tendon continues to second tendon with latter muscle.
Finally, this muscle is inserted into the dorsal side of the base of second metacarpal bone.
EXERCISES
Like all muscles of the forearm this can also be strengthened by exercise that resists its extension. Such exercises include reverse wrist curls with a dumbbell.
NERVE SUPPLY
Like most of the extensor muscles of wrist, this muscle is innervated by Radial nerve.
