STRUCTURE AND POSITION

• Teres Minor is present at the back of the Shoulder Joint between Teres Major and Infraspinatus Muscles.
• Teres Major is a narrow and elongated muscle.

ATTACHMENTS 

• Origin : Teres Minor arises from the Lateral Border of the Scapula over its lower third part.
• It runs superolaterally between Teres Major and Infraspinatus Muscle to reach the Shoulder Joint.
• Insertion : Teres Minor gets inserted into the inferior portion of the Greater Tubercle of the Humerus and adjoining part of its Shaft.

BLOOD SUPPLY 

Teres Minor is supplied by the Circumflex Scapular and Posterior Circumflex Humeral Arteries.

NERVE SUPPLY 

Teres Minor is innervated by the Axillary Nerve.

ACTION 

• Teres Minor Muscle is a part of the Rotator Cuff Muscles hence supports and protects the Shoulder Joint.
• Teres Minor also laterally rotates, extends and transversely abducts the Shoulder Joint.
